Cheap motoring or actual fun? 2024 Honda CB500 Hornet review
I'll be the first to admit I've not ridden a 500cc bike in years! So with Honda updating the CB500F and giving it the Hornet name for 2024, it was time to jump in. Join me for a full review of the CB500 Hornet, including a look at its riding dynamics, tech, ergonomics and - importantly - cost versus the bigger 750 Hornet.

The Metzeler Roadtec 02 launched in 2024 but I've not seen many real-world reviews of them - so I've put 2,000 miles on a pair on my Yamaha MT-10 SP to tell you what I think. I've toured on them, I've ridden in biblical rain and I've enjoyed some fast country roads - here are my thoughts. 📸 Follow me on Instagram: timrodie 🚗 Check out my car channel: ruclips.net/user/TimRodieDrive...

Middleweight naked perfection? 2024 KTM 990 Duke review

The new KTM 990 Duke promises to deliver a riding experience that's closer to the 1390 SuperDuke than the 790 - luckily I spent an afternoon riding the 990 immediately after getting off the 1390 SuperDuke R. Do influencers just assume we all know it's 3 years for PCP deals (rather than 4 or more?), because they never mention it, only ever tell you the monthly price which is meaningless if you don't know how long the deal is for. Also, not that you respond or read them, それはとても茶色です

    I've just bought one of these, moved on from a CB300R. Once you get used to the weight, it is actually easier to ride than the CB300R. I'm 70 and only past my test in Feb and it’s perfect for me. So smooth, I'm no hooligan, I ride it pretty much the same as I drive my car. Boring? maybe but at my age, discretion in the the better part of valour.

    Great Video, Tim. I'm trying to decide between one of these and the Monster 937 you reviewed a while back. Had a CB500F. Ridden plenty of dual sports, had a Yamaha R6... the Honda was the most enjoyable to ride. Short seat height and easy to get both feet on ground with 32" inseam. About 45mpg. The seat is huge and provides multiple riding positions for long highway hauls. By the way the "slow" bike can easily do 80mph all day long without being totally out of breath or feeling like it's redlined. Minimal vibrations. It is just fun to constantly rip around town at full throttle without going to jail.

    Finished a very extensive test ride. Pro: 1. Engine, tons of power and especially torque. Does NOT feel like 95 HP, more like 120-125. 2. Brakes incredibly strong, very confidence inspiring. 3. Build quality 4. Cruise control works beautifully, easy to engage / operate 5. For someone around 5,9ft 175 cm this is very comfortable for long distance. Also nice low seat. 6. 719 finish looks great. 7. Digital display is crystal clear and very bright so amazing visibility. 7. Tech laden CONS: 1. KEYLESS allows you to switch the bike on and off but not lock/unlock the steering, meaning you still need to take out the key regardless. Absolutely retarded. Unless I have not figured it out somehow.. 2. No fuel gauge. Mind boggling 3. Quick shifter feels BAD in the first 2 gears. Very jerky changes. 4. Tyres grippy but could have been a little better. 5. Rear shock is hard with very little travel, so only a little better than a triumph bobber or Indian scout bobber.

    As a rider, I've only ever had two "offs" and both were relatively low speed front end loses. One in the dry and one in the wet. This has forever damaged my front end confidence. When you say tyres give you confidence in the wet and they warm up fast, how do you feel that? For me, I can really only feel that they're getting me around corners. The first sign of a lack of grip at the front generally means you're on your arse. Please, someone, explain. Is there something I'm missing here? It really holds back my riding and enjoying corners.

    • @GripEngineering
      @GripEngineering 18 часов назад

      If you have adjustable suspension, increasing your front preload can provide added feedback. Increasing compression damping a bit for same. The construction of the tire carcass will also play a big role, so Tim's comment about confidence in the 02 tells me a bit in relation to the S22 he just removed (bike didn't go vague with the 02 fitted). When adjusting suspension settings, use 20 percent of range as a MAXIMUM step or adjustment for ONE setting, then road test it. Don't make huge changes to several settings at one. Work with the front preload first. Hope that helps.
